I took this photo while
traveling with my friend when we were on a camping trip, I had taken
my camera in the event that I may see anything interesting. On the
way to the camping spot we spotted this chair in the river so I asked
my friend to take a seat that I might take a photo. It took a while
to set up the seat as it was unbalanced so we moved it further up
stream and my friend was able to pose and be well balanced.

I took this photo after being inspired by John Millais piece "Ophelia" in the way the woman is in peaceful sleep. I tried to make the model look like she was under water in a way so I made sure her hair was placed to give the impression of being moved slowly by water. The face was equally as important as I wanted to make it look like the model was n darkness and in a way could not wake up, so getting the right light set-up was very challenging.

After the first time trying life drawing I was detirmened to do a lot better the second time and I decided to use acrylic instead. I had learned a lot from the first time painting and new I had to focus on my time management as well as my brush strokes. I had 30 minutes to complete this piece so I drew out the shaped quickly with my brush and started mixing paint rapidly, taking care on the colours I used. I am very pleased with the colours I used and believe they displayed the model perfectly.
Portfolio 7
I done this piece in class from a
life drawing session, I used ink and Water on cardboard paper. I chose charcoal and chalk to draw out the model and shade in the details. I
had 15 minutes to complete this piece and spent a bit
too much time on the top half so couldn't complete the bottom which I
believe makes the piece look better.
Portfolio 6
This Self-Portrait was inspired by the sketches of Leonardo Da Vinci on portraits and human anatomy. I am inspired by Da Vinci's rough sketches as they seem so minimal with light shading on dark paper. I darkened the page with coffee before useing charcoal, Sanguine and graphite pencils to show different textures and colour.
Portfolio 5
This piece was inspired J.M.W Turner
and the way he used his light and dark tones in a way that it
highlighted the colour of the waves and the sky inspired this scape
piece. I made this piece with palette knives and used acrylic paints,
drawing ink and mouthwash.
Portfolio 4
I made this style based on the paintings of Tim Burton and tried to imitate the song "Heron Blue". I drawing alot of imagery from that song and had different representations but I loved the design on this piece which I believe simulates my feelings more. I used only black and white acrylic on this piece though lately I have been thinking of remaking this piece using inks and chalk.
